RITE-HITE CORPORATE PROFILE

Rite-Hite Holding Corporation, headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, is a recognized world leader in the manufacture and sale of loading dock and industrial door safety products. Comprised of seven separate corporations, Rite-Hite’s unique customer-based focus provides high-quality, compelling products that improve safety and productivity. The family-owned company was founded in 1965 by Arthur K. White, father of Rite-Hite’s present owner and Chairman, Michael White. The company has historically placed a strong emphasis on research and development, leading to new products that pioneer the industry.

Rite-Hite first rose to prominence as a manufacturer of loading dock equipment with an original product line that consisted primarily of dock levellers and vehicle restraint systems. However, with its 1991 acquisition of Frommelt Industries, Dubuque, Iowa, Rite-Hite’s materials handling lineup was significantly broadened to include industrial power doors, cold storage doors, impact doors, dock seals and shelters, and a full complement of aftermarket products.

Rite-Hite lead the trend toward loading dock safety in 1980 with the introduction of the DOK-LOK® trailer restraint. With it, Rite-Hite successfully identified and addressed the need to help protect against several types of trailer separation accidents with a single product. The DOK-LOK restraint’s proprietary design immediately became the standard for the industry and is today preferred at the majority of installations, world-wide.

The continued development of exclusive products has since strengthened Rite-Hite’s reputation for safety, quality and innovation. Current examples include the SAFE-T-LIP® hydraulic dock leveller, which features a solid steel impact barrier to help keep fork-lifts from running off the edge of a vacant dock; the Global Wheel-Lok™ wheel restraint for trailers without an ICC bar; the PROTECDOR® high speed power door with its revolutionary Soft-Edge™ Safety System that helps protect personnel and property; the WORKHORSE™ sectional door with its ergonomic BREAK-THRU™ safety system; and the ELIMINATOR™ GAPMASTER™ sealing shelter that eliminates trailer hinge gaps for greater employee comfort and higher energy savings.
